COVID – 19 Update

March 23, 2020

Meyer Veterinary Clinic is open, and happy to help you and your beloved pets!

We Are Open!

We are here for you and your pets. Due to the crucial role we play in the health and continuity of care for your pets, veterinary medicine has been deemed an essential business by authorities and we will continue to operate during the “stay at home” order recently issued by the State Of Michigan and the Michigan Veterinary Association.

However, we are making changes to help ensure the health and safety of our staff and clients. We are urging all clients to stay at home, and postpone any non-essential or non-medical procedures until the official order has been lifted.

Until further notice:

  • Please stay in your vehicle, and call (231-775-4104) upon arrival. There will be no person admitted into the building, and therefore no face – to – face exams. If you feel you need to be inside our building, please discuss that request in advance with our hospital manager or attending veterinarian.

  • Please note: if you are not feeling well or may be at risk of exposure to the coronavirus and your pet is in need of immediate care, please have a friend or family member transport your pet to the clinic and call beforehand so we are prepared to take all necessary precautions during intake.

  • If you are picking up food or medication refills, please call when you arrive, we will take payment over the phone, and instruct you from there (we may meet you outside or on the front porch).

  • At this time we will not be accepting appointments for: Grooming, Heartworm test, Annual Vaccinations, Toenail trims, Etc. (No elective procedures)

  • We can see your pet if: it has a medical condition (sick/injured), puppy or kitten vaccinations, rabies vaccinations. Please call in advance to discuss this with one of our team members. (231-775-4104)

  • We are requiring all payments to be made over the phone, please be prepared for this when you arrive to your appointment.

  • We again thank you for all of your patience in this very difficult time and thank you for understanding and following our new protocols as they emerge as new information given to us.

  • We promise to keep you up to date with information as it comes in. If you have any questions please call us. (231-775-4104)

ATTENTION CLIENTS

Rabies

Effective April 1st, 2019, any Rabies vaccination to be given will require an exam by a veterinarian the same day. This is in accordance with recent regulations from the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA).

Rabies vaccinations should be given to healthy animals only, which warrants an exam by a licensed veterinarian. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Care Credit

Effective immediately and due to Care Credit regulations, we will no longer be able to process Care Credit transactions over the phone. Upon payment, the card holder must be present and will have to provide two valid forms of ID (Driver's license, Debit or Credit Card, OR Care Credit Card).
